via CO Dept of Transportation: “Flooding Update: Several of our state highways have sustained significant damage as a result of the overnight rain and are currently closed. There are no ETAs for reopening at this time. We strongly encourage motorists to check highway closures before heading out on the highways at www.cotrip.org. Please make safe choices – if you can’t see the roadway, don’t drive there!”

Warrior Sisters Society is a certified nonprofit organization dedicated to the liberation of females from physical and sexual violence. Our goal is to prevent male violence before it occurs by teaching females how to defend themselves and provide a range of materials to assist them in doing so. We are located in Lane County, OR where these measures are particularly urgent as the number of sexual assaults consistently exceeds the national average.

We will offer free of charge classes in hand to hand combat as well as defensive materials such as pepper spray and stun guns to females in our community. Sisters can choose which options are best for them based on their given situation and what they are personally comfortable with.

As an organization we hope to join the network of Women’s support services in Eugene and with the help of others, spread our services to other communities.

Warrior Sisters is wholly supported through contributions and donations. We are currently in our founding stages and need funds to get our trainings off the ground.

The following is a list of fundraising priorities:

  • Insurance for our trainings
  • Venue space for trainings
  • Training materials: mats, gloves, headgear, etc
  • Promotional materials (large scale printing, website costs, etc)
  • Continued defense materials

Help support us by donating funds or self defense materials; or by mailing checks or material donations to 28547 Siesta Lane Eugene, OR 97402

Some day the load we’re carrying with us may help someone. But even when we had the books on hand, a long time ago, we didn’t use what we got out of them. We went right on insulting the dead. We went right on spitting in the graves of all the poor ones who died before us. We’re going to meet a lot of lonely people in the next week and the next month and the next year. And when they ask us what we’re doing, you can say, We’re remembering. That’s where we’ll win out in the long run. And some day we’ll remember so much that we’ll build the biggest goddamn steam-shovel in history and dig the biggest grave of all time and shove war in and cover it up. Come on now, we’re going to go build a mirror-factory first and put out nothing but mirrors for the next year and take a long look in them.
