This is an event fundraiser by Gabrielle Price, official administrator of the Crossing The Rubicon Official Book Page on Facebook, founder of The Refreshment Center blog and Gabracadabra Studios. [Updates found at the bottom of the post — thank you!]
Anniversaries [and eclipses] aren’t always fun
It was 20 years ago, in August of 2004, that Michael C. Ruppert wrote and dated the Acknowledgements segment for his book, Crossing the Rubicon, The Decline of The American Empire at the End of the Age of Oil. This is the last sentence written there. “It is not over yet for mankind. Miracles can happen without our permission. This book is living proof of that.”
10 years later in March of 2014, Mike shed this mortal coil in an apparent suicide which left many of those who followed his work and knew him in great shock. I was preparing to do some energy work for an eclipse that was to occur during that same time. I placed my copy of Rubicon on my altar and took this photo after I heard the news.

In about three weeks from today, a rare eclipse is scheduled to cross the Midwest US, reaching totality over a town I used to live in and one of my favorite places to camp in my home state.
The timing feels right to come out from behind the shadows I’ve been feeling eclipsed by — I think we all have — since the lockdowns only a few years ago. In the blink of an eye, we experienced a time of great upheaval and psychological horror. I believe it is time to start talking about what we have learned, not just from Mike. He said during my interview with him in 2011 that it wasn’t important that we reach everyone, but that we see each other.
To quote Wendell Berry…
Be Like The Fox
Who makes more tracks than necessary, some in the wrong direction.
I’m embracing a new anniversary with this eclipse event and I hope you will join me. You can help by making a donation which will help cover camping for 14 days in a state-run park which thankfully does not take reservations. It is ‘first come, first served’ and I appreciate this. I intend to arrive Easter Sunday. The eclipse does not occur until Monday, April 8th, so this gives me a full week to be settled in before the probable crowds. I say probable because this place is known well to locals, probably not to eclipse tourists. Locals here will be home watching the eclipse. [Some likely selling camping space at a premium!]
I’m hopeful that it will be peaceful at the park, like it was last July:

The cost per night for primitive camping is $13 and your donations will also be utilized for a hot spot and solar charger, a small propane cookstove, waterproof tarp, dry goods, dry firewood, ice, among other sundries. I’ve got everything else I need to set up camp [or ‘glamp’]. This state park is cash only. Donations may be sent via Paypal or Venmo. I’ve used both for my 35-year old pet sitting business and can access cash with both accounts without issue.

I plan to share videos from the camp site [and beyond this singular event]. Some will be live on Telegram, shared to the Official Rubicon channel and my own, The Refreshment Center. Anyone can chime in with their thoughts there. Feel free to join these channels anytime you wish to follow the current events that MSM does not report.
If there is one thing that Mike wished for us it was to be closer to the land, to reconnect with mother nature and heal. Finding our tribe is a goal not easily achieved at this moment in time. As a writer, producer and “internet archeologist”, I found my tribe on the web. Though we may be scattered across several states and even continents, it my sincere hope to meet many of you in the years to come.
And what will the next few years look like? No one can say for certain but those who followed Mike’s work have a pretty darn good idea. We can still utilize the map Mike made for us but we should regroup, look inward, and revisit our inner compass to heal ourselves and our fractured republic. This eclipse is a sign for change and perhaps all of us to shine some light. Let’s do it for Mike. Let’s do it for one another.
I look forward to connecting with you as we cross another Rubicon together during this eclipse of 2024.
Peace, love and rocket stoves ~ Gabrielle [Admin GJP for Crossing the Rubicon and founder of The Refreshment Center blog].

UPDATES:
March 28: I’ve removed my Amazon list link since we’re closer to the time to go — I wouldn’t be able to get items in time for the trip. I’m also sharing this as a personal, spiritual event with friends who do not understand who Mike is or where we are right now. You gotta know your audience!
I’m uploading a video I made last year, while off-grid which I noticed was created on exactly the same date as this year’s eclipse on April 8th. This video will make sense to those familiar with Mike’s work and followers of TRC. I note that look like hell in it. but aging isn’t always graceful for women. I’m certainly done trying to catch any ‘man’ at 56. Too many soy boys with man-buns and not enough men out here for me to GAF. I love being over 50, ha!
Link to that video will be here soon as well as Rubicon’s Official FB page.
Please share this event with others? Thank you! More soon…
March 29: Here’s the video I promised, recorded a year ago from the upcoming eclipse event, which I decided to post to Rumble instead. While on YouTube, I found some censored audio posts from Rubicon that I’d previously recorded. Disclaimer: I’ve been ‘tech poor’ the last few years and paid no mind to YouTube except to add things to keep my playlists current with ongoing news events. [You can find those on my channel: https://www.youtube.com/@GabracadabraStudios
Do keep in mind that nothing printed in Rubicon was ever challenged, Mike was never sued and the book still sits in Harvard’s law library. I’ve made a short vid of this discovery that brought offense — it is interesting that they pinpointed a specific audio timestamp to say the least. It’s on the way. ~ G
Offending UToob content from Rubicon now on Rumble. Just, wow.
April 10, 2024
Greetings readers,
I apologize for not sharing more updates here — but the ‘glamp’ camp for this event ended sooner than I would have wanted, due to consistent rain, thunderstorms, occasional subzero temps and the inability to ‘maintain healthy body warmth’ because of these things. I’m staring down 57 this year and I’m too old for that shit.
It was a personally grueling camping experience for several reasons, which I will write about here on the blog in a few days. I’m back to civilization and must focus on the practical for a spell, before the next pet sits begin the first week of May. I’ll have more to say at this time.
Thanks to everyone who supported this event and who donated to insure my stay was comfortable as humanly possible under the circumstances. Do watch this space for my eclipse photos, which came out great, if I do say so myself.
Deep gratitude to [you know who you are], V.V., Oliver, Wendy, Marita, Andrea, Andreas, Annie, Ali, and Amy. Special mention to Jackie for sharing her home on eclipse evening with this mouthy old broad and allowing me to wash off the dirt, smoke, and stress of the week.
Totality has been reached. I no longer feel compelled to keep my mouth shut about issues that matter. I do hope you will watch this space. Love one another ~ G
